What makes you shine?

It’s Monday, 6 a.m.

The alarm rings and you hatefully hit snooze, snoring further on the soft pillow.

“Oh, shit! I gotta go to work again…” you say to yourself when the alarm rings again, starting the day of your dreams.

You open the wardrobe, having a tough time choosing what to wear from the same old clothes.

The toothpaste and cold water are waiting for you to get prepared, but prepared for what? You’re still dreaming about that cozy, warm bed you just went off from.

You eat breakfast slowly, trying to freeze the time before you get stuck in traffic again, going to work. Going nowhere.

You open social media, why not? Another dopamine shot to kill your time with is always welcomed.

You see gurus promising you will make money overnight if you give them your money before you get to the next task at the job you hate.

You see your “friends” traveling to exotic places without paying any gurus to teach them how to make a fortune overnight.

But wait! How could you miss the news? The BREAKING NEWS!!! Old people dying from diseases, living without being able to make the ends meet or not even catching retirement. The government telling you that paying your taxes means you are contributing to society. Which society?

Then you see young people in their teens and twenties being so stupid, wasting their time and their life with video games, drugs and TV. You realize you were stupid in your teens and twenties too and you understand that in your seventies and eighties you might probably be ill, incapable or dead.

What now? You work 9 to 5 from 25 to 65 and you have your coffee on the run.

Is that what life is all about? Is that all you can possibly be?

There must be more in life than just a mindless breakfast and a coffee on the run.

There must be more than just working at a job you hate, being stuck in traffic and getting lost on social media apps.

There must be more reasons to enjoy life than just being one day closer to the next salary only to forward your money to everybody else, leaving you empty inside, dead, in a dark hole.

There must be something that makes you shine.

Where is that something?

That something is inside yourself. Is coming from within.

But what is that something?

Turn those lenses of perception inwards. Stop for a minute and be fully present in the moment. Let yourself shine.

Do the work that comes natural to you. That work will make you shine and will spread the light to the people around you too.

Wake up before the alarm rings. Get a healthy enjoyable breakfast, do some sports and some contemplation, do a little more about what excites you and start the day with full throttle.

I shine when I write on my blog about deep questions, when I draw skulls and Rome on paper and when I paint feelings on canvas.

I make other people shine when my questions open up their mind, encouraging them to create a brand new world for themselves. When they go over my drawings and connect with their inner sense of art. When they get lost in my paintings, melting into the Eternal Unity.

What makes you shine like a star?

How can you spread the light to the people around you?

Until next time!
